Hotel Krone Aachen City - Eurogress

We froze in the ice-cold room. The radiator didn't work, the bedcover was thin, and there was no insulation. The window was very old, and street noise came right in. Even a tent would have been warmer and quieter. The place is very rundown, there was no breakfast, and the TV wasn't connected. The photos don't match what you find there.

The bathroom was the worst part. It smelled like piss, had no ventilation, and the shower had mold in all sorts of colours, black, yellow, pink. They'd tried to hide it with a towel, and the mold on the tiles had been painted over with white paint, which only made it worse. I kept my shoes on and didn't shower there. It felt like a health hazard. I don't even think prisons have conditions like this. We only wanted to stay one night, and after seeing other ratings, I guess we were lucky someone was there to help us at 20:00. The first thing we noticed was the smell of curry and food. The carpet on the stairs was so dirty and dusty that I think they should just remove it. Some furniture seems to be in good shape, maybe from an attempt to renovate years ago, but some of it isn't. I don't think they have a cleaning service. From the comments, it seems there may have been changes six years ago, but things have gone downhill since Corona. I'm sorry about that. I hope they do something soon.

I checked the listing because the prices looked good, and it seemed like about €9 a day. I was just about to book 20 days, then realised it was €9,000, not €9 a day. Are you guys insane? This now looks like a money grab, and I expect the hotel to close in the next few months after a few people fall for the trap 😅

The location was the only good thing. We had no electricity in our rooms for almost 24 hours, and with thin walls, I could hear all the conversations from a loud neighbor. The hallways smelled of cigarettes, the shower sliding door had mold, and the towels had brown stains. The double bed was too small for two adults to sleep properly, and after three nights on that terrible mattress I had back and neck pain. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
