The value here is hard to argue with, and I’d recommend staying if that’s what matters to you. Rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, though the decor looks a bit tired. Shops and places to eat are within walking distance. Parking’s not too bad either, with plenty across the road and on the main road. Just read the signs carefully when you park or you’ll be paying lenz! It’s a good spot for the Ring, but not for getting to the Ring itself.

We stayed one night, Sunday to Monday. There was a bit of a rush when we arrived in the afternoon, and we had to collect the keys from the pizzeria, but they showed us to the room and it was nice. The sheets had a few small stains, though I still slept fine. The pizzeria has tasty dinners, and there’s a small 24-hour self-service kiosk across the road by the market corner. At this price I couldn’t expect more, and I expect the place fills up on race weekends because it’s so affordable. It’s only a few hundred metres up the slope from the hostel to the racetrack. My one wish: a fridge in the room, since you can’t keep chilled items there.

The modern rooms in apartment 7 were lovely and clean, but the shower was a joke. The pressure would drop from barely adequate to a trickle, then you had to wait for it to come back. It would’ve been better to have the loo separate from the bathroom, too. We stayed twice more in the downstairs apartment later, and that shower was great 🙂

The excellent breakfast, hard-working staff and very clean room couldn’t make up for the fact that I barely slept on two of my three nights. Rooms 1 and 2 are at ground level, and while the double glazing blocks noise well, their curtains don’t fit, so they don’t give privacy or keep light out. Passing car headlights shine right in. Opening the windows in hot weather would feel unsafe and be very noisy. Both rooms, along with some others, also have glass panels in the doors. When other guests got up at 5am, light came straight through, and I heard them on the stairs and in the room above. There was only a very narrow window when the rooms were quiet and dark enough to sleep. In other rooms, glass doors let corridor lights wake you as well. Avoid rooms 1 and 2 at all costs. I’d even refuse them. Parking is free behind the hotel, up the hill, but nobody mentioned it. Information is lacking, and you have to ask for everything. A folder in the room with wifi, parking and other important FAQs would help. If I’d been able to sleep, this would’ve been an easy 3.5-4 rating. It’s not expensive, the room was very clean and breakfast was excellent, but I couldn’t sleep properly because of the poor soundproofing and glass panels in the doors.

We had a brilliant three nights here in April while visiting the Ring and can’t wait to return. The rooms were really clean and tidy, and there’s off-street parking outside for a couple of cars. It’s right next to the Pinnochio pizzaria, where breakfast is included and you can also get dinner. The location’s great, and it was fun sitting outside on the street watching all the petrolheads drive through the village. Highly recommended!
