Everything worked out fine.

The hotel has its own character, and it’s lovingly run. We’d be glad to return and recommend it to others. As the first guests after the coronavirus pandemic, we were welcomed warmly and treated with real courtesy. The rooms are well equipped, with nothing missing, and the food was delicious. The chef cooks himself, with skill and a lot of enthusiasm. Thank you for the kind hospitality and the extra efforts.

Mr. Lauser was warm and accommodating, and the welcome helped make up for the room’s drawbacks. The rooms were spacious and clean, but the furnishings felt dated and the floorboards creaked enough that we could hear the neighbors. Breakfast was fantastic, with lots of cold cuts and jams, scrambled eggs, and a big platter of freshly prepared fruit.

At first glance the room looked clean, but closer inspection turned up dust in the textured plaster and a very shabby old bed frame. It was freezing, too. The place seemed smaller and less professional than its online appearance suggested, though it was cleaner than it looked there. Wi-Fi setup by QR code was quick, but the connection was slow and limited, presumably because some ports were blocked, and several apps wouldn’t connect. At €65 without breakfast, the price was outrageous. Breakfast was served at the table and looked nice, but there wasn’t much of it, and the coffee was watered down. After I complained, they waived the €10 breakfast charge, which would have been exorbitant anyway.
