The food portions are generous, and everything we tried was delicious. The schnitzel is their signature, served with fries and access to a salad buffet. We started with the Strassburger-style wurst salad, so save plenty of room, and after a 40k walk the Nuss Genuss ice cream with caramelized nuts is a great treat. We felt like we were eating at home. The service was very friendly, and they took us in despite our last-minute reservation.

The location suited me perfectly, with a supermarket just a few minutes away by car if you need to stock up. I was traveling by motorcycle, and the owner let me keep it in the private garage overnight. The hosts were welcoming and professional, and communication worked out fine even though they didn't speak much English. One staff member even knew a little Swedish. My room was clean and pleasant, and the bathroom was tidy and looked newly renovated. There's access to a shared balcony where you can sit and read. Wi-Fi is available, though the signal around the house wasn't very strong. The food was good. My main course could have used a bit more seasoning, but I enjoyed it. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Breakfast was a highlight the next morning, with eggs made to order and plenty of vegetarian choices. We arrived early, so that worked especially well for us. We'd had a last-minute change to our driving route toward Munich and turned up late without a reservation. The hotel looked welcoming, with about a dozen cars outside and a lively bar and restaurant. The rooms were cozy and very nice, and the owner was hospitable. A good overnight stop if you're driving through the BF.

There was no mobile coverage in the area, but the internet worked well. The hotel is well located, the rooms are clean and have what you need, and breakfast was good. The owner was polite.
