Apartment Christine

The apartment had everything we needed, from the very comfortable bed to the huge walk-in shower. It’s simply furnished, but decorated with lots of care, and the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive. They even welcomed us with homemade waffles when we arrived. We spent some wonderful days there over New Year’s. There’s parking across from the house, and a forest path nearby leads up to a hill, which makes for a lovely walk. While you’re in Altena, the Erlebnisaufzug is worth taking up to Burg Altena. Allow 3-4 hours to see the castle, it’s well worth it. The view over Altena from up there is lovely, and especially magical at this time of year with everything covered in snow.

The terrace was amazing, and the kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. It was completely quiet at night and clean everywhere, almost hospital-clean. Shame I was only there for one work night.

We felt at home as soon as we checked in. The rooms were spotless, and the apartment is beautifully furnished with everything you might need. The hosts are so warm and welcoming, really lovely people. The bathroom has been newly renovated, with a shower that would fit right in at a 3-4 star hotel. When the weather’s good, you can sit on the terrace with a glass of wine or have breakfast outside. There’s parking right at the house, too. The garden is lovely and well looked after, and the apartment itself is clean and well maintained. It’s beautifully located, the owners are very friendly, and the whole place feels wonderfully relaxing. Highly recommended.
