The setting is gorgeous, with mountains and trees all around, so I’d pick a table outside even though it’s warm and comfy indoors. The homemade cakes are terrific, the soups are good, and the coffee is just okay. Opening hours change often, so check before you head over.

Feels like cake and coffee at grandma’s, with a lovely forest-side café to enjoy them in.

The owners made us feel so welcome, and bringing our two dogs along was no problem. My girlfriend and I were hiking in the Harz Mountains, and we had a fantastic time here. We’re hoping to collect stamps next year, so we plan to stay here as often as we can.
