The host was super friendly, and for the price, this is great value. It’s not a luxury hotel.

The owners were really nice and polite, and the rooms were clean, tidy, and perfectly fine for sleeping 😴. Breakfast was decent too, with a perfectly good selection. The location works well for a short trip, with the thermal baths nearby and shopping easy. I’d definitely stay again if I needed to 🤩🖐👌 Regards

Our group of Ukrainian refugees is especially grateful to Ms. Detty and Mr. Engel for welcoming us and understanding the exceptional circumstances behind our delay. Staying at the Garni Hotel Engel in Altenau lifted our spirits and gave us fresh energy for the Klippenweg hiking trail along the Oker Valley. We’ll definitely come back.

The place has a bit of age to it, but that gives it charm, and the location is great. It’s a cozy hotel that’s run very nicely, and we thought the breakfast was fantastic. We’d be happy to return!
