Hotel Restaurant Rodizio Paderborn

The rooms were filthy, with cigarette ash on the floors and window sills. Check-in was just a desk and an ashtray, and the staff were rude and didn’t speak English or German. They accused us of causing damage while they partied late into the night, so we couldn’t sleep. Stay away at all costs. I’d rather pitch a tent by the road than stay in this terrible excuse for a hotel.

Nothing I tried was even passable, and the third-rate meat gave me nightmares. There’s nothing Brazilian about this awful place.

The place itself is quite nice, and the food idea is pretty good, though there isn’t much beef to choose from. It’s basically what you’d expect from an all-you-can-eat place. I’d have preferred a special dish from the menu, even just one plate with the meat I chose. Service was unfriendly apart from the head waiter, who speaks good German. The other waiters speak only Romanian, not German. We waited an hour before getting a small sample of picanha, and had to really push to get a second one. So there are good and bad points, and I’m not sure I’d return.

I was there at lunchtime and chose my own food, which turned out to be a mistake, though I still got everything I wanted. The staff came over and served me the meat. At lunch, the price for what you get is good. At the full price, it feels like poor value.
