The location is idyllic, right by the sea and on the way to the lighthouse and the Gellen. We ate well and had a great time. The only downside was the background music, which really wasn’t needed.

I was surprised by some of the negative reviews, but the owner told me those referred to the previous owners. The current owners have only been running the place for a year, after the restaurant had sat empty for a while. It looks lovely inside, too. We relaxed at a sunny meadow that feels like the edge of civilization on Hiddensee, with very good coffee and cappuccino, a truly outstanding pizza, and delicious salad. A beautiful place with delicious food :-)

The wait was 45 minutes in line, then another 50 minutes for the food. We’d finished our drinks by then and wanted more with the meal, but ordering them meant joining the queue all over again. The pizzas weren’t cheese-filled and were very oily, and the “Lax De Luxe” salad was a joke, sorry. For the price, it was disappointing. We won’t return.

This is our new favorite restaurant on the island. The setting is beautiful, the service very friendly, and the food is both creative and delicious. We especially recommend the broad bean hummus and beetroot pizza 🍕 😋
