The countryside setting is soothing, and it was clean and quiet enough to sleep, but this felt more like a basic farmhouse than a hotel or BNB. We booked a hotel stay without breakfast and got something more casual than BNB service. There are farm animals and a honey farm, and the kitchen is shared, so you can use the appliances. It’s very much no-frills, with the basics in place. The wifi? I’d use your own. The biggest concern was the lack of window screens to keep bees and wasps out. We spent much of the evening trying to drive them out of the bathroom, washroom, toilet, and bedrooms. We were ten people, including two toddlers, and at minimum there should have been a warning to help protect little children. We ended up sitting in the corridors late into the night with very tired babies, until some friends braved it and swatted the bees out of the room. The owners turned a blind eye. Later I found out two other rooms had attached baths and toilets, and those guests had insect swatters and better service. It would be wise to ask in advance what’s available and what isn’t. The nearest supermarket is Lidl, about 1.9 km by car, so stock up if you’re staying. The rooms, showers, and toilets are separate and not close together, so ask yourself if you’re up for a dorm experience. I hadn’t realized that and felt unsettled.
