I’d read reviews that sounded really positive and promising, so it was a shame to find the restaurant closed. I was waiting at a red light today and wondered why it had seemed shut for quite a while. I pulled into the nearby parking lot and saw three signs saying it was currently closed. 🤔😲😟

The breakfast is included and really excellent, with different cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, and yogurt each day. Eggs are available too if you want them. Dinner is currently only for hotel guests, and it’s delicious, with generous portions and good value. You really have to try it, better than a kebab! 😉 We stayed with our dogs and got a super friendly welcome. The room was good, with a modern bathroom and very comfortable mattresses. Even though the hotel is at an intersection, it was quiet in the room.

The location is great, central but still quiet, and the food is tasty and down to earth. Our spacious room was lovingly furnished, spotlessly clean, and comfortable, with great mattresses and really good pillows for a restful night before the slopes. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Big kudos to the owner, we’ll be back! 💪

The owner is tireless and friendly, and the hotel gives very personal service, even to guests like us in our 80s. Cleanliness is impeccable, and the food leaves nothing to be desired. We keep returning to the Bergglöckl in Altenberg, right in the heart of a hiking area. Simply beautiful in every season.

There’s a fantastic, big outdoor playground just around the corner, and in winter the ski slope is right there too. All the sights are easy to reach from this excellent hotel, even the ones farther away. Highly recommended.
