The host was very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was served in a small building beside the guesthouse that seemed new. Our room was very large, quiet, and clean, though some of the furniture looked like it dated from the 1950s. The privately run place seems to be getting renovated bit by bit. The bathroom is down the hall, but since we were the only guests that day, that was no issue. We thought €50 for the room, plus another €10 for breakfast, was a little too much.

We stopped at the Oberau guesthouse on the first night of our Pentecost cycling tour, but the room with the external bathroom was very dirty. We can't agree with earlier reviews saying it was clean. There were food scraps and sweets under the bed, and the room was dusty all over. It looked as though it hadn't had a thorough cleaning in a long time. The toilet seat was broken and could cause an injury. For this kind of accommodation, €50 plus €10 for breakfast is unreasonable.
