Hotel Waldmann

We’d spent a few nights in Stuttgart and booked a couple more in Bavaria, especially to visit Schloss Neuenstein, so we wanted somewhere nearby. Hotel Waldmann was just right, a small independent hotel with what we needed. The room was clean and neat, the bed was large and very comfortable, and the bathroom was a decent size and standard. We were puzzled at first because there weren’t any drink-making supplies in the room. Then we found the kettles and mugs outside for guests to use, along with extra blankets for the beds or balconies.

We had a spacious, private room for four at 162€/night plus city tax, with a Schloss Neuschwanstein view, a small balcony, fridge, and sofa. Coffee and tea are available free in the hallway, and there’s free parking too. The hotel also gives you a free bus ticket and a reduced price for sightseeing tickets. You can walk to Füssen or straight to Schloss Neuschwanstein. The staff were nice and helpful, and we’d definitely recommend the hotel.

The windows need checking before guests get the room. Ours was full of bugs, and they kept getting in through the window frame, which was frustrating. Breakfast could also offer a bit more, especially with such a large kitchen and evening restaurant. The options felt quite limited for someone pregnant or on a special diet. Apart from those two things, we had a good stay.

Breakfast had plenty of options, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed. Great location, within walking distance of the castles, town, and ticket center.
