The staff were kind, friendly, and welcoming, but what the website says didn’t match what we found in our room. The “paid parking” turned out to be a voucher to display in the car window. It lets you park on the street wherever you can find a spot, and only overnight. There’s no private lot where you pay to park. Our room was so cramped that the double bed filled it. The padded fabric on the walls had water damage and large brown stains around the windows. There were no window screens, and since we were on the top floor, opening a window at night meant getting bitten by bugs. The narrow stairs up to the room felt dangerously small, so I wouldn’t consider this suitable for children or older people. The floor wasn’t level either. There was a two-inch drop between the bathroom and bedroom, and I hit my foot on it in the middle of the night, leaving it bleeding everywhere. There was no shower, and getting out of the tall bathtub onto the faux-marble floor was very slippery. They should consider adding adhesive duck mats for safety. We had no fridge, kettle, or other extra amenities. For 120 euros, it felt outrageously overpriced for what was presented as luxury.

Right in the heart of the Ansbach Altstadt, this is a beautiful historic hotel. The rooms have been updated but keep a romantic, luxe antique look, and the linens are good quality. Breakfast was the typical German kind, with good bread and bacon and eggs available to order. WiFi was strong and consistent, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Just be ready for the spiral staircase, though the staff offered to help with luggage.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and everyone on staff was helpful and welcoming. It’s a very cool old hotel in an ideal spot, close to good restaurants and pedestrian streets. A great place to stay in Ansbach.

We had a lovely room and the staff were kind. Breakfast was nice, and they even brought me a piece of Schwarzwaldtorte for dessert. I’d recommend this hotel.

I don’t usually write reviews, but the staff were pleasant throughout. The location is great, and I’d highly recommend it.
