Mato One Apartments

We found it odd that the restaurant where you check in doesn’t open until checkout time. There wasn’t any information about how to check out, so it was a struggle to leave before 11. I called to ask, but the instructions we got still seemed strange to me.

The deluxe room was modern, clean, tidy, and spacious, with good furnishings. Mornings were unpleasantly noisy, though, because repairs were going on. There was also a lot of loud activity upstairs.

The building was very well cared for, and the separate hotel entrance and stairwell meant no restaurant smells and a quiet stay. Our modern, spacious room came with a tea and coffee maker, water, and Wi-Fi, and the quality mattresses meant we slept like logs. Breakfast was generous, served by a lovely, helpful hostess. We could check in through the ground-floor restaurant anytime until 10:00 PM. The owner always replied promptly, and we’d love to come back.

We ate very well at the Greek restaurant downstairs. At Marto One, we’d spontaneously found a lovely room, practically new and modern, with lots of storage. It was very clean, and the bathroom was spacious, though the shower felt a little small. They provided a TV, coffee, tea, a hairdryer, and towels.
