The staff were really friendly and attentive, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We all had colds but still found breakfast very pleasant. We booked the Victoria apartment from Saturday to Monday at short notice after our car broke down, and were lucky to find space for four people. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a place in the city center, with enough room for all of us. The welcome was very friendly, and they showed us how the key system worked. Everything was clean and tidy. The bathroom was a bit small and the shower high, but that actually suited my tall son. Definitely worth a visit to Bautzen.

The breakfast we booked had everything we could want, and the staff were especially friendly and welcoming to the children. The stay was at a fair price for such a nice place in the city center. We rented both the Victoria and Caspar apartments for a family getaway. Caspar was especially charming and beautifully furnished. Victoria was great too, although its bathroom looked a bit dated. It was all very clean, with basic amenities and a lovely little welcome gift. They also arranged a baby cot at short notice, even though they don't usually provide one, and didn't charge extra. That was very kind.

The easy check-in and friendly receptionist made arrival straightforward. We were very satisfied overall, and received a local bottle of beer, water, and Bautzen mustard as a welcome gift. We stayed in Apartment 101, which is apparently one of several apartments the hotel has in different locations. It was modernly furnished and very clean, with no complaints on that front. There’s a dishwasher, washing machine, and induction cooktop, and everything was in excellent condition except the supplied pan, which was unusable, so bring your own. The old town is a five-minute walk away. The location is okay, though there’s no parking right at the apartment. Metered spaces are nearby; the free lot is about 500 meters away, involving a long walk down lots of stairs into the valley and back up the other side. The apartment is right next to the Italian restaurant kitchen, so there’s a lot of noise from there even during the week. You can also hear church bells with the windows closed, so earplugs are recommended. It’s a very nice apartment overall, with excellent value for the price, but the noise is a bit bothersome.

We came back to Apartment Caspar for a second stay and enjoyed it just as much. The owner’s thoughtful little touches made us feel welcome straight away, and the place was very clean. We were mostly in town to see friends, so we mainly used the apartment to sleep, but being right in the old town meant we could walk everywhere. Arriving late was easy too, thanks to the code on the mailbox. We’ll be back.
