I was in Schmochtitz for a training course and stayed in a modern, very clean room. Meals were plentiful, with a good variety. I often spent my breaks in the well-kept park next door, a relaxing and inviting place. It’s a great facility, and seems like it could also host a good party.

There are lots of places to sit, and archery can be arranged by appointment. We ate there too: it was a delicious buffet. The castle is beautiful, and its park and outbuildings are all very well maintained. A lovely spot for a stroll and some downtime.

Update June 30, 2019: We came back to the park today, and sadly there are hardly any benches left. What a shame. The park had been a peaceful place to explore and unwind, with plenty of benches in both sun and shade. I loved sitting by the water and listening to the birds or the woodpecker looking for food. This review is about the park only.

I’ve stayed overnight at this hotel on earlier visits and remember the rooms fondly. For the conference, the beautiful room was ready just right and warm even in winter, so my group and I could get started comfortably. The bright dining room was welcoming, and we had delicious freshly prepared meals. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I wholeheartedly recommend this quiet, lovely conference center.
