Bugenhagen - Classic Appartements

The apartment had everything I wanted for a few days away for work: a comfortable place to sleep, a sofa, a sitting area, a nice kitchen, and a balcony with seats. The flowers out there were the best part. The whole complex is well kept, and the adjoining café lounge means coffee, cake, hot meals, or even a few beers are right outside. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and I ate there too. The food was good, home-style cooking, with several menu choices at reasonable prices. Very Thuringian, right? The one thing I’d have preferred was exterior blinds. The roller blinds and curtains were fine, but I need a completely dark room. We travel a lot as train drivers and have stayed in all sorts of places, from small apartments to hotels, so we were more than pleasantly surprised by the apartment’s condition and location. I’d been looking for a few days’ stay for a colleague and me, and wanted somewhere self-sufficient rather than a hotel. I came across the listing on a classifieds site and persuaded my boss to book Bugenhagen. Check-in and checkout were smooth. Jörg and René, my namesake, are incredibly nice and welcoming, and had time for a chat. They’ve created something really lovely there. Chapeau! If I or we end up in Arnstadt again, Bugenhagen Apartments & Lounge will definitely be our next stop.
