Schloss Triestewitz

Just average.

I was fine with it for one night, but I personally wouldn't stay longer. The location is peaceful and relaxing, and the hotel looks stunning from outside. It's an old castle that's been converted, with a nicely done historic feel and great rustic furnishings. There are some things to fix. The bed in room 4 is old, saggy, and uncomfortable, and the neglected trash can in the corner clashes with the decor. Breakfast also left me hungry. I had to choose what I wanted when I arrived, then the next morning the table was set with only a limited amount of food, and I couldn't get more.

The owners were so kind and friendly, and you can tell they put care into looking after guests. Our spacious room had comfortable furnishings, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette. Triestewitz Castle has a lovely historic atmosphere, and its quiet setting and romantic park make it easy to enjoy nature and get away from everyday life. We had a wonderful stay in the charming old castle. It's a great choice if you're after a peaceful, romantic place with history and beautiful surroundings. We'd happily recommend it, and we're already looking forward to coming back.

This was a disappointing visit, and our last at Triestewitz. It's a shame to leave so let down after having such high hopes. We'd first been here 25 years ago for one night without breakfast, and that stay meant a lot to us. For our 25th anniversary, we booked the same room as before, arranging it explicitly by phone and email. But the room had been rented to someone else despite appearing in the computer, and apparently the owners now rely on paper records because of their age. The young "employee" is only there Monday through Thursday, so our booking was invalid. We feel sorry for the owners, who have aged 25 years and, in our opinion, can no longer manage due to health reasons. The rooms are still as they were 25 years ago, neat but not what I'd expect for about €110 per night. The garden is small but well-kept, and both the staff and owners are very friendly. Breakfast is offered, though even there it feels like time has stood still. In theory, this is a very romantic hotel with a garden and park, perfect for small weddings. With the current management, though, that isn't possible.
