MOXY Munich Messe

I skipped breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. They did acknowledge my loyalty membership and gave me a bottle of water, a cereal bar, and 500 points. My stay was short, and what I saw and experienced was average. The rooms are compact, while downstairs there’s plenty of open space for working on a laptop or socializing. Music plays on the ground floor, which was decorated for the holidays, and there’s a small fitness room with a punching bag, cardio machines, and some free weights. There isn’t much nearby apart from a large shopping arcade a few bus stops away. The Moxy Munich Messe is an affordable choice near Munich’s main conference center, the “Messe,” especially when there are no events and room rates are low. Getting into the city is also something to weigh: the bus stop is a short distance away, the S-Bahn connects to the airport with a change in the city, and you can reach a U-Bahn by bus.

I arrived one day before my booking after my travel plans changed, and was told the hotel was “sold out” and I’d need to find somewhere else for the night. I checked online, saw rooms available, and showed the receptionist. She then acknowledged there was a room but said its TV wasn’t working. I was fine with that and only needed somewhere to rest before early meetings. After I pressed, they “found” another room, but quoted double the rate I’d already confirmed for the following days and wouldn’t match it or even come close. With the late hour and no alternatives, I reluctantly took it. That room wasn’t as clean as expected and showed clear signs of poor maintenance. The food service and quality were well below what I’d expect from Moxy and Marriott. The staff’s attitude and unwillingness to help were frustrating. I travel frequently across Asia, Europe, North and South America, and I’m a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member with high status. I expected at least basic support and professionalism. I appreciate Marriott’s consistency and hospitality around the world, but this property doesn’t represent the brand well. I don’t recommend it and won’t return.

The open lounge was a favorite, with room to work, meet friends, or unwind with a drink. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the stay feel personal and easygoing. The interiors are vibrant and modern, full of character, and make stylish backdrops for photos or short clips. I recently discovered the brand-new moxy munich by marriott, and it has a playful energy with great design and urban comfort. It’s close to everything but still calm enough to feel like a little retreat. Moxy is fun and social, unlike a typical hotel, and seems made for people who like creativity and lifestyle. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in munich.

The staff were friendly and patient. Using the hotel for day use was my best decision that day, since we could rest after our red eye flight before catching another night flight. It’s about 10 minutes on foot from the train station, and the proper footpaths made that manageable.
