Komforthotel Birkenhof

There are plenty of places to explore nearby, even though the hotel itself is tucked away somewhere very quiet. It’s a lovely little place for families, warm and cozy, and the rooms are nicely furnished with everything you might need, including things for young children. Breakfast has lots of choice and tastes great, with homemade jam and boiled eggs available if you ask. Dinner is varied and really good too.

The breakfast was fresh and there was plenty of it, and in the evenings you can pick from the daily specials. The rooms were clean and had the usual amenities you’d expect from a good hotel. It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot, and we’d happily come back.

The food was very good, and so was the honey schnapps. We were warmly welcomed and had a cozy lounge with a fireplace where we could light a fire whenever we liked. Everything was clean, and the rooms were comfortable. The sauna and pool are a little dated, as the previous reviewer said, but both work just fine.

If you want to spend time in a big city, this probably isn’t the right location. For peace and quiet surrounded by nature, though, it’s ideal. The owners were helpful and accommodating, and have a good sense of humor. Our room was clean. The house carries sound quite easily, so it’s best to avoid having parties in your room.
