Hotel A8 Lukas

I stayed here for the second time. I wasn’t happy with the previous owner, but I booked again two days ago and was glad to meet the new owner. Everything was fine, and it was a pleasure staying at the hotel. I wish them good luck.

We chose this hotel for an overnight stop on the way back from Croatia, booking late because of awful traffic jams and relying on the reviews for a good-value stay with our family. The man who welcomed us was nice, and the next day he acknowledged the room’s condition and understood our concerns, but couldn’t change anything. The room looked dirty and neglected, and didn’t have proper curtains. I’ve never stayed in a room like it. I don’t understand the reviews at all. Looking at them, perhaps cleanliness and hygiene vary between room types. If the hotel doesn’t change, I’m convinced it won’t still be here in three years. That might be useful advice for the owner.

The room smelled awful and was filthy. There was food on the walls, hairs from previous guests in the bathroom, and the sheets were so dirty and smelly that I stayed awake all night. A friend’s room had snus on the ceiling and mold in the bathroom. There were cigarettes behind our bed, broken furniture, and the door to my room didn’t lock properly. The location felt creepy, and the corridors and atmosphere scared me. Very disgusting. Thank goodness we only stayed one night. Definitely do not recommend.

The only thing in its favor was the low price. We arrived late and were greeted very politely, then put in the old building, which isn’t shown in the pictures. The room looked like it was straight out of a horror movie and had no windows, apart from a ceiling window where rain had come in onto one of the beds. Luckily, the woman at the desk was still there and moved us to the “new” building. That room was like the pictures, but the beds were hard, the curtains were missing, and the shower drain was missing too. It looked unfinished, as if they’d forgotten to complete it.
