Maison Viktoria Augsburg

A good value for the money, with friendly people and a nice room just across the street from the main station. Breakfast was very good, with a solid range of eggs, meats, breads, yogurt, cheese, and fruit. The elevator is tiny and funny, and the layout's a bit odd. It's a pleasant walk into the city on safe streets, with lots of food options close by. A great base for exploring Munich if you don't want to stay in a big city.

We skipped the hotel's breakfast and went to a nearby bakery instead. The room was small but nicely decorated, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Despite being right by the main train station, it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. We had to check in ourselves because of an emergency with the owner, but it was simple and hassle-free. The location makes it very easy to reach.

We would've happily stayed another night at Maison Viktoria. It was good value, with helpful staff, convenient parking, a nice breakfast, and a great breakout room where the kids could play. The charming room had a lovely feel, and the sights were a ten-minute walk away. The bathroom was dated, and the drains cleared slowly, which was a bit disgusting. We stopped here on our way from Calais to Austria, and it suited a short city break well.

We got in around midnight and the hotel code didn't work. The key box did, but apparently our key hadn't been loaded. A phone call got the issue sorted, but walking to another hotel and back with our luggage in the middle of the night wasn't exactly stress-free.
