The room options range from a double room with a shared bathroom to a larger apartment with a terrace and two separate rooms for two couples. I stayed in the double room, which was great value, and everything was clean and tidy. Internet can be an issue around here, both mobile and regular, but I had a strong connection throughout the hotel and good coverage outside. The owner was welcoming, fun to talk to, and knew the area well. As a cyclist herself, she gave me tips for cycling routes as well as motorcycle tours. The hotel feels authentic to the Black Forest and sits right by a winding road, close to some of the area's best routes for cars and motorcycles. It’s also a lovely base for cycling, mountain biking, and hiking, with Schluhsee lake within walking distance.

This restaurant is worth the short drive from Schluchsee. We stopped in late on a weeknight, just 15 minutes before closing, while wandering around the Black Forest, and the owner was still happy to serve us. She took care preparing fresh, excellent food. It was probably the best meal we’d had during our week there, and also the cheapest. We’ll go back before we leave.

We’ll be back! The guesthouse has really good rooms, comfy beds, and low prices. The restaurant is excellent for regional dishes, drinks are super cheap, and the staff are very friendly.

The dish we ordered was great, and the staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable too. I only had dinner here, though, and the vegetarian choices were limited.
