Arthotel Ana Aura

For a one or two night stop while traveling through Germany, this is a comfortable option. The beds were very comfy, the back side was quiet, parking outside was free, and the staff were friendly. We were mistakenly given a room that hadn't been cleaned, but the receptionist took responsibility and quickly moved us to another room at the back. A few things need attention. The listing mentions air conditioning, but our room only had a fan. The underground garage was being used for the hotel's equipment and tools, so we were told only the parking beside the hotel was available. The fridge didn't work and wasn't fitted properly in its cabinet, and some bathroom tiles and a floor corner hadn't been cleaned well.

At €60 for two people, we felt we got good value, and the breakfast was very good. The hotel has been partly renovated, too. Just be aware that reception isn't staffed after 2 p.m. You need to call a German number to get a code, which is easy, though Booking didn't mention it.

I'd happily stay again if I could get a room at the back. Our front-facing room was noisy with the window open, and got a bit stuffy when it was shut. We were also above the entrance, where a bright light shone into the room all night. We could have lowered the rollo, but then wouldn't have had enough fresh air. The staff are extremely nice and we liked the hotel. The location works well if you have your own vehicle. A bus stops right outside, but it doesn't run very often.

Our triple room cost almost 100 euros, and it was noisy because it was right by the driveway. It was dirty and smelled awful. The fridge stank when opened, and there was hair inside it. The carpet was dirty too. We only stayed one night, but the room was disgusting and made me feel sick. The pictures are seriously misleading compared with the condition of the actual room. It felt like a rip-off. Stay away and don't book here.
