Romantik Hotel Das Lindner

The restaurant was the best part of my two-night stay. The food was delicious every time they served us. The rooms were fairly standard, maybe a little dated, but the staff were extremely polite and helpful.

I was at Das Lindner for two and a half weeks while my husband had surgery at a nearby hospital. The hotel is lovely, spread across several buildings, including the older castle and newer ones. It’s probably the most refined and upscale option in Bad Aibling. My room felt modern and comfortable, with good closet space, a nice bathroom, and a balcony with a bistro set. Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping it spotless. There was a little beverage fridge, though it didn't cool very well, so I put my drinks outside on the balcony instead. The hotel sits right in the heart of Bad Aibling, handy for walks and for enjoying the shops and restaurants. The church next door was absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was good, but it cost extra and felt a bit expensive. My main issue was the front desk. They didn't tell me that streets around the plaza would be closed Saturday evening while a Sunday market was being set up outside the hotel. With a rental car, I struggled to get back onto the property because nobody had explained how. I was also surprised that the desk closes in the evening until morning, given the hotel isn't small. That's why I rated the service three stars, although everything else was really nice.

The hotel itself was comfortable and nice, but the reception staff gave us misleading information more than once, and it really soured the stay. When we asked about adding two people to a room booked for one, they first tried to charge €250. That was more than booking a whole separate room. We said we'd leave and find another hotel, and suddenly the price dropped to €50 per person per night, €100 total. The difference was significant and felt suspicious. We also asked about parking and were told our room key would let us into the parking area. Nobody mentioned it cost €11 per day. We assumed, as we would at most hotels, that guest parking was free. The lack of clear information felt misleading. It came across as if the staff cared more about upselling or overcharging than making guests feel welcome. We were left with a poor impression of the service despite liking the hotel itself, and based on our experience with the front desk, I wouldn't recommend it.

The atmosphere was really nice, and the service was friendly and excellent.
