Haus Gisela

Mrs. Wolf gave us a very warm welcome. The house is well run, spotlessly clean, and functionally furnished, with modern bathrooms. It's a five-minute walk to the town center, and with the windows shut, the nearby highway can't be heard. The mattress was a bit too soft for me, though that's just my personal preference.

At 70 euros for two people, even for just one night, the price seemed good. Mrs. Wolf's house was spotless, on the edge of town along a very quiet side street. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was a pleasure, and the bed felt as comfortable as one in a hotel. Kiki

The owner was friendly, and the room felt fresh and spotless, with a really comfortable bed. Just remember to bring your own breakfast and hot drinks.

I was in a small single room at Haus Gisela for January 2017, with a shared shower. Since I commute on weekends, I only used it from Sunday night until Friday morning, and that arrangement was understood from the start. January was the off-season and most rooms seemed empty. I hadn't realized, though, that the monthly setup would affect the service. When I cancelled February, they charged €520 out of the €650 monthly rent, plus tourist tax, for a room with a shared shower and no TV. After accounting for my other monthly costs, that came to about the same amount. Following a storm of protest, they eventually lowered the cancellation charge to €420. Thanks to Ms. W. Junior for that concession. Still, they only discussed the fees by email and didn't have the courage to tell me face to face. Then I drove past on two February evenings and saw the light on in my former room, so it looked like they'd found new tenants after all. Of course, looking back, you can always twist things to fit your own version.
