The room was clean and the bed excellent, and Bad Bentheim is within walking distance. The staff and owners were helpful and friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent value for money. If you come across older bad reviews, those were from before the hotel changed owners a couple of years ago. The new owners have done a really good job improving the food and service, and have earned a four-star review from me.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good with plenty to eat. Our ground-floor room was very clean but dark. The bed was okay, and the TV was large with lots of channels.

We had a lovely weekend. The people were very friendly, the food was good, and the hotel itself was more luxurious than I expected. Breakfast was good too. If you stay here, go see the castle, it’s amazing.

It’s a former railway station turned into a hotel, with a very pleasant view from the room into the forest. The kitchen serves German and Thai food. There’s a very healthy spa within walking distance, as well as the railway station.

The food and service were both very good. They even have a miniature train hanging from the ceiling, and when we asked, they switched it on so it went round in circles. My daughter loved it. I’d definitely go again.
