A classic, quaint German pension hotel. The rooms are pretty spartan, but the owner-manager was very cordial and friendly.

The town is small and beautiful, and the historic building is about 200 years old and well maintained. We had a peaceful stay, with clean rooms and a good breakfast. The owner was very kind and spoke good English.

I booked a room for that same evening after 20:00, asking to check in between 22:00 and 23:00. The booking system had let me make the reservation, but I then received a message saying they couldn't accommodate the late arrival. I understood that, so I called reception to ask for my money back. The woman refused the refund while repeating that I couldn't stay that night, which left me without a place and out of pocket. She was also very impolite on the call, shouting that she wasn't in the mood to explain the booking terms and that I should have read them first. I don't understand keeping the payment when I didn't receive the service. It left me thinking other guests might have a similar experience, so I want people to know before they book.
