Villa Westend Hotel an der Messe

A really bad hotel experience. They first quoted me 80 euros a night, then 155, and emailed a booking confirmation for 155 euros per night. After I sent my card details, they came back with 500 euros per night. No ethics.

We had a nice family stay, and check-in was easy and straightforward. Our room was clean and spacious. We skipped breakfast, but there are plenty of good cafes and bakeries nearby. The location worked perfectly for us, close to a couple of U-Bahn stops and within walking distance of many parts of Frankfurt. We'd certainly try to stay here again on our next visit.

The rooms are large and nice, and the bathroom is especially roomy. Having it in a separate room was a plus. The hotel is in a nice spot near the train station, though downtown is about a mile away. We booked through a secondary website and asked at check-in whether breakfast was included. We were told it was. The breakfast was nice, but nothing we'd have gone out of our way to pay for, it was just convenient. At checkout, we were charged $42 a day for the two breakfasts. When I explained what we'd been told, since our other hotel on this trip included breakfast, they rudely said we should read our reservation and that it wasn't their fault we'd been told otherwise. It's a nice hotel, which makes the experience a shame, but I wouldn't stay again after feeling ripped off.

The staff were the highlight. They had great recommendations and dealt with our requests right away. My partner and I stayed for 3 nights. The room was wonderful, with a super comfortable bed, a spacious clean bathroom, a fridge, a teapot, and lots of bathroom products. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to many great restaurants that locals go to. Highly recommend!
