The front desk was helpful, and the bar was okay. The cafeteria had odd hours. The spa itself had nice facilities, but there were no spa staff at all. We’d booked massages, then were told the massage person had gone on vacation. They apologized, but really, someone should have been hired to cover. It felt like the spa after a zombie apocalypse, with nobody left. The gym was basically a closet with a treadmill and a few dumbbells. For a luxury hotel, they’re too short-staffed to make it feel luxurious.

I got feedback to the chief about breakfast and hope they’ll take it into account. The scrambled eggs, poultry and Bircher yogurt were fresh, but breakfast still disappointed me a bit. There was also a problem with my key. I couldn’t open the door at checkout and ended up late for my appointment.

Breakfast was the best part, with lots of variety and a gorgeous dining room. The room was spacious and very clean, with a firm mattress just how I like it and a very comfortable duvet. The bathroom was clean and functional, and there was a safe, refrigerator and hair dryer in the room. I hadn’t heard of relaxa hotel before, but decided to try it after seeing its high rating on booking. The rate shown on booking was lower than the price I was quoted when I called the hotel. Parking isn’t free, it costs 16 eur per day. I couldn’t find outdoor parking. Public transportation was within walking distance, though I didn’t use it. You can leave your car and take the tramway to the city center. Google said the U2 ride should take 30 minutes, but I couldn’t verify that. All in all, a very good stay and a good choice if you don’t want to be right in the city center.

I had a good sleep in a clean, pleasant hotel, and the bed was comfortable. It’s a long way from four-star quality, but I still enjoyed my short stay. Breakfast was a real highlight. The bar closed sooner than I would have liked. The location worked well for me, just a five-minute walk from work.

Clean rooms, good breakfast, and friendly, efficient service. I had a really nice experience.
