For the price, this was okay, though nothing special. A place nearby could cost two or three times as much. The carpet looked new and the hotel seemed clean, but there were holes in the walls and wood. I didn’t see any bugs. Finding the entrance was difficult, and someone had to let me in so I could check in. Check-in itself was no problem, and they told me where my room was. The hotel is on a busy street lined with bars. Since I was there on a Monday, it wasn’t too busy, and they provide earplugs if needed.

The breakfast is good and reasonably priced compared with eating out nearby. The place is close to the river, the Dom, and the Metro station, about a 10m walk to the latter two. It’s a nice spot for a night or two if you want bars all around you. They’re noisy late into the night, but I didn’t mind and slept well. Earplugs are available too.

I left after two nights, although I’d paid for three, because I didn’t feel safe. I travel alone often and have never had an experience like this. I was told I was the only guest in the building, but on the second night people arrived, knocked on my door, and went to a room upstairs. I could hear them talking and every creak of the floor as they walked. The front door didn’t close all the way. There was no reception, and the man who handed me the key spoke poor English. The place is close to downtown, though the streets on the way felt less crowded, especially at night. I was told there’d be no cleaning or breakfast “due covid.” The building was noisy: I could hear people in other rooms and on the street. It was low season and many bars were closed, but I can’t imagine sleeping in summer with them open. The bathroom stayed cold even with the heat on, and shower hot water lasted only a few minutes. There was no shampoo or soap. The furniture was old, the sheets ragged, and there was no TV. A PC monitor with a remote was there, but didn’t work. When I left, I followed the instructions to turn off the lights and heat and leave the key beside the front door.

The area is nice, but on a weekend make sure you get a room away from the street. I was put in one facing it on Saturday and the people drinking outside kept me awake until 05:00. There’s no A/C in either room. I asked to move on Sunday and they agreed, but I had to ask three times because the next room hadn’t been cleaned each time. The staff spoke very little English and didn’t understand what I was asking for. It’s a small, quiet motel on a popular Frankfurt bar street, so the street noise took me by surprise.

Nightlife is right outside and the location is great for exploring Frankfurt, but that central spot gets noisy after dark. The dated rooms and bathrooms are a reminder that you get what you pay for. A cheap option for a young couple, especially if you plan to stay up with the bars.
