Gräfliches Hotel Alte Post

From the first moment, the relaxed, rustic atmosphere at the Alte Post in Bad Birnbach made us feel at home. The food was excellent, fresh, hearty, and prepared with care, all at a fair price. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and hospitality really feels like a part of the place. If you’re after peace, comfort, and good food, this is a good fit. I’d definitely come back.

The hotel has a spa area that’s perfectly adequate for a few days, plus a free shuttle bus to the Rotthaler Therme and back. The staff are friendly, and the food is good. There’s also a vending machine in the evening where beer costs €2.50. Where else can you get that? A nice hotel.

We felt very comfortable during our two-night New Year’s Eve stay at Hotel Alte Post. Our suite was quiet, clean, beautifully furnished, and had a comfortable bed. On arrival, we got a very warm welcome, and staff carried our luggage and two very fluffy bathrobes up to the room. There’s no elevator. The spa area, with its thermal bath, sauna, and fitness room, was all very nice and clean. The thermal bath could have been a little warmer. Yesterday’s sauce with the excellent bread dumplings was absolutely sensational. My grandmother’s cooking has spoiled me, so I was incredibly happy. That was comfort food at its finest, and the price was incredibly reasonable too. Thanks to the whole team! ♥️
