Hotel Kurhaus Bad Bocklet

The treatments were the highlight of my week. The Ayurvedic team was warm and careful, and the doctors were knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and never rushed me. I also felt well looked after by the helpful reception staff, who were always ready to listen and answer our questions. The food was delicious and generous, served in the Kurhaus's beautiful former ballroom. The hotel sits beside the spa gardens, and the small wellness area is clean and nicely designed, with Finnish and bio saunas, a steam room, and a plunge pool. There’s also a little swimming pool with enough room for a few laps. Bad Bocklet is quiet and small, with plenty of pleasant walks and places to visit nearby. The hotel had a calm atmosphere, and I felt completely at ease during my week. It was wonderful, and I’ll definitely come back.

The consultations with the specialists were thorough and competent, and I thought the Ayurvedic treatments were fantastic. My modern single room was on the small side, but bright and very clean. Everyone on staff was friendly. I really enjoyed the food, which was flavorful and varied. Lunch was three courses and dinner two, plenty for me. The spa was clean and lovely, and there are beautiful walks starting right from the building. Hatha yoga was available in the mornings. Some of the instructors were just so-so, though Carlos was excellent. I’d definitely return for another week of Rasayana treatment.

The setting was lovely, with an incredibly beautiful park and grounds. Our rooms were tidy and comfortable, but they got cold quickly. Service was friendly, though I couldn’t get clear answers to my questions and the staff didn’t always seem to be on the same page. Breakfast was good. Dinner wasn’t really our thing, the pasta was dry and so was the meat. The pool was very small, cold, and noisy, and I wasn’t impressed by the pool and sauna facilities.

This was our second stay at the Kurhaus, five nights in November. We especially like being right by the spa gardens, which is great when you have a dog. The wellness area is small but works fine for us, and there are always free loungers. We enjoyed the half-board meals. The food isn’t especially varied, and fish is a regular part of it, so you need to like fish. Our room was rather sparsely furnished, but we were glad it had a refrigerator. We highly recommend the Kurhaus.
