Seminaris Hotel Bad Boll

We had a very nice stay and will come back on future trips. The area is green and really quiet, and the hotel is close to the highway, making it a good stop on a longer journey. The room was nicely decorated, the bed very comfortable, and everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast was good and varied. Reception is open 24 hours, so late check-in is possible. The young guy at the front desk spoke good English and was very nice and helpful.

For a business conference or seminar, or a visit to the Therme just behind the hotel, I’d recommend this place. I was here for a professional training course, and found it comfortable and enjoyable overall. It’s conveniently close to A8, yet in a calm, quiet location. The rooms are comfortable but have no air-conditioning. Breakfast is a buffet with good quantities and decent quality, though the selection is a bit limited. Parking is available at the hotel, but at EUR 12 a night it’s quite expensive.

During our European road trip, this was one of the best hotels we stayed in. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful.

The good points were the breakfast, the box-spring beds, and the location near a nice forest and the well-known Sinnen route hiking trail. But the rooms really need updating. There was a smart TV without an internet connection, no air-conditioning, and no refrigerator. The room also had no kettle or complimentary hot drinks. You could ask reception for a kettle, but all of them were loaned out for the week. Although we could open a window, there was no mosquito screen, so biting flies quickly got into the room. That was especially unfortunate because a screen would also prevent the stains in the room, which had clearly been left by other guests. We were there in the second week of August, but everything was closed: no bar, no terrace, and the restaurant was closed too. They served hot dinners only for special groups, not hotel guests, so the place lacked atmosphere. The pool cost 6 euros a day per adult, which I found hard to understand since it should be included for hotel guests. There was a small bowling alley, but at €7 per person it was quite pricey. Parking was €12 a day, so each time we parked some distance from the hotel, where fortunately parking was free. Dogs are allowed, which is fine, but letting them into the restaurant didn’t seem very appetizing to me, and sometimes there was a lot of barking during breakfast. In Bad Boll itself, you’re literally in the middle of nowhere and there’s nothing to do. There is, however, a small Therme worth visiting and a few hiking trails.
