I really liked that coffee was available at 7 on Sunday, even though breakfast officially begins at 8. As an early riser, that was a treat. Our room was on the small side but worked well for a short visit, and the bed was comfortable enough. There’s a generous parking area, plus a sauna and a small pool. The balcony had a lovely river view, and the hotel suited us nicely for a couple of nights.

We slept very well in a quiet room with excellent beds, though the hotel itself feels well worn and past its best. There was a damp smell in the corridor, but not in our room. The bathtub was difficult to climb into and out of safely, and the water pressure could be better. The parking garage ramp was wide enough for my car, which I appreciated. The buffet was fine each day, although the broccoli and other vegetables were overcooked. Perhaps that’s a German cooking style we’ll never learn to appreciate. I also kept wondering why they put cup saucers on the dessert buffet instead of dessert plates. As a conference hotel, it should have had a microphone for the speakers at a group of more than 90 people, but none was provided.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and our balcony room looked out over the Rhine. The bed was comfy too.

The staff I dealt with were great, and breakfast was excellent. The rooms are okay, though a bit dated, and I found the bed and pillow uncomfortable. The pool was cold and, along with the sauna, felt small for a hotel this size. Free parking fills up quickly in peak season, but you can pay to use the garage.

The interior is somewhat outdated, but the location and view make the stay worthwhile. We were very happy with our visit, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend booking a balcony room with “Rheinblick”.
