The rooms weren’t heated, and after using a robe at the pool, where towels sometimes ran out, we were cold in the evening. WiFi was slow, and there weren’t enough pillows. The advertised free tea and cake were only available until 5 p.m., then you had to pay. We arrived an hour late because of traffic accidents and had called ahead, but dinner was rushed, there was no welcome drink, and nobody properly checked us in or showed us the amenities. Staff seemed indifferent to guests’ needs and more concerned with their own schedules. Meals felt hurried to fit that schedule, there were no breaks between sessions, and requests for more time to rest or to dine later were refused, sometimes with a passive-aggressive response. Instead of helping us unwind, the stay added stress. My boyfriend and I wanted a peaceful vacation with good food, nature, and wellness facilities, but Sanct Bernard was a big disappointment as a relaxing retreat. The rooms also looked different from the website photos, and the hotel is surrounded by houses rather than the green space shown, so it didn’t feel like a sanctuary. The whole experience felt misleading compared with how it’s marketed online. Even the wellness products lost credibility for me afterward. For such a high price, you can find better service, more comfort, closer access to major cities, and a genuinely relaxing setting elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend it as a vacation destination.
