Heide Spa Hotel & Resort

The location, breakfast, service and facilities were all excellent, and the staff were highly professional. But there was no AC in our junior suite, which really let the room category down. When it's over 30 outside, it's hard to spend time in your own room.

The staff were so helpful, and the food was great. We also slept comfortably in a spacious, lovely room. The hotel is well located, with bus links nearby. Easily the best hotel we've stayed at.

The breakfast had a really good range, from hot and cold food to sweet and savory things. The room was spacious, with a mini fridge, and I loved the illuminated stars on the ceiling. There was plenty of free parking, and the surroundings worked well for a morning run. The gym and spa were there too, with water and disinfectant in the gym, though I didn't use the thermal bath. A few things lowered my rating. The staff were kind, but at reception the friendliness sometimes felt forced, and it depended on who you spoke to. I missed bathroom cleaning products and a tea and coffee maker. Some salmon or another fish option at breakfast would've been nice. The gym itself was very, very good, with nice cardio and weight machines, but the opening hours were a disappointment. As a woman, I had to run in the dark, even though I could have run there. In my opinion, the hours were a very small window: from 8.30 am on Wednesday and 9 throughout the week until 21 pm, I think, though I'm not sure. That affected my three star rating. All in all, I had a good stay.

We stayed for one night. Free parking is right in front of the hotel building, and the restaurant was okay, though the food quality could be better. The portions are big. The room was spacious, with a huge shower and nice LED effects. I liked seeing the stars on the ceiling at night. There's a covered corridor between the hotel and the Spa building, so you can put on your bathrobe in your room and walk to the swimming pools without going outside.
