We found this to be one of the best places we stayed in Germany, and it was the lowest price we’d found yet. The hosts live on site, speak English, and can be called anytime if there’s a problem. There’s free parking right outside. We skipped breakfast, but what other guests had looked good. The shared room has a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, coffee, tea, sugar, and more. There’s also a small fridge, with a box for each guest’s food. Marburg is a 20 minute drive away, and there’s a pretty little park with a playground a short walk from the house. A nice five mile hiking trail is nearby, and ALDIs and Rewe are just down the road. There is a somewhat busy road out front, but there isn’t much anyone can do about that. It probably won’t bother you unless it’s blazing hot and you need the windows open. Even then, it wasn’t too bad.

The room was small but had everything I needed, and it was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was excellent, too. I stayed two nights on a business trip. A big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Grundel, and keep up the good work!

Every night the room was freezing. In all my 35 years working in construction, I’ve never run into anything like it. We were even told to remove our clean work shoes in the stairwell to protect the 30-year-old carpet. And while we were out, the landlord came into our room despite the “do not disturb” sign and switched the heating off completely. Outrageous.

The room was basic, but it had what I needed. There was a microwave, kettle, coffee machine, and refrigerator in the hallway, and everything was clean and tidy. We got a very friendly welcome. I’d happily stay again.
