The apartment was bright, welcoming, and furnished in a modern style. The box-spring bed was comfortable, and it’s a good base for hiking. The landlord was friendly and easy to reach, and the key was ready for check-in. There were some problems, though. The bedroom faces the street, where resurfacing and tarring went on for three days, including into the night on September 24th. The apartment and kitchen utensils were only superficially clean, which felt like too little for the €85 final cleaning fee. There was no information about using the wellness area, underground parking, or setting the heating, and the tourist information about Bad Essen, events, and the Geopark dated from 2022.
