We travelled in February/March 2025 for a spa stay, and as a wheelchair user with two therapy dogs, I have a few accessibility notes. The San Andreas is a family-run hotel with lovely, welcoming staff. From check-in onward, I felt looked after, and questions, suggestions, and requests were handled quickly and competently. Our bright room was comfortable and practical, and easy to reach by wheelchair. Nearly all rooms have balconies. The bathroom, though, isn't wheelchair accessible. The toilet is just three steps from the door, so that might be manageable, but showering there isn't possible. There is a very nice large shower in the basement by the pools. Guests without dogs can ask for rooms with larger bathrooms, but the doors are standard width, so it depends on the wheelchair. The elevator is also quite narrow and small, which makes the resort only partly suitable for wheelchair users. The basement pools are heated to 28°C and 36°C. Water therapy is in the cooler one, followed by a relaxing soak in the warm pool. Bliss! The treatment areas are all wheelchair accessible. Physiotherapist Christian Geiselberger has his practice on that floor and leads the therapies. Other treatments prescribed by the head spa physician, Dr. A. Wenemoser, are carried out there too. Half-board is served in the restaurant. Breakfast is a good buffet with fruit, muesli, yogurt, different breads and rolls, cold cuts, ham, and cheeses. There’s coffee, tea, juice, and milk, and the coffee is especially delicious. Dinner offers fish, meat, vegetarian, or cold dishes, with soup or salad to start and dessert included. Harry, the chef, is accommodating and flexible with allergies and food intolerances. Nobody goes hungry. There may be an extra charge if needed, and special dietary requests are handled whenever possible. Simone is the heart of the restaurant and service. She’s warm and cheerful, anticipates what guests need, and learns their preferences and habits quickly. She makes you feel happily welcomed into the “San Andreas family.” Birgit and Daniela keep everything spotless. Rooms are cleaned daily except Sundays, and they make the beds, which is especially convenient for wheelchair users. The value for money is excellent, and I highly recommend the San Andreas health resort, especially for older people travelling alone since there’s no single supplement. The Wi-Fi isn’t very stable, so working from home and Zoom meetings are only possible to a limited extent. We’ll most likely come back for another spa stay. Many thanks to all the staff and management team for a wonderful stay at San Andreas.

We spent a week at the San Andreas Thermal Hotel in May with half-board. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, the hotel and rooms stayed clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. The thermal baths are right in the hotel and available at any time. Our room was number 133, on the first floor above the Greek restaurant, which sat below us and in front of our balcony. The room and bathroom looked quite worn when we first checked them, and urgently need renovation. The restaurant's smells came into the room whenever we opened the balcony door, and while it was busy, sitting and talking on the terrace was impossible. Noise was a problem throughout the day. The cleaning staff started shifting tables and chairs at 7:00 a.m., which woke us up. Lunch preparations began around 11:00 a.m., then many guests left around 2:00 p.m., with more scraping furniture and vacuuming. That ended the midday quiet. Dinner setup started around 5:00 PM and continued until about 10:00 PM, followed by more noise. We only got peace in room 133 after the last guests had left noisily. I asked reception where to store valuables and was told to use the lockable door on the sideboard near the room key. When I checked this so-called “safe,” I found the back panel of the desk was missing, so anyone could get in. A wall safe or proper furniture safe would be much better. Then our week away was over, and we looked forward to heading home.

The physiotherapist and his two assistants in the basement were very good. The hotel's thermal baths and sports pool are easy to reach by elevator. It’s a well-run hotel with excellent rooms and food, and a very warm welcome.

This centrally located, clean hotel is family-run, and the whole staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms have balconies, and what mattered most to me was that pets are allowed. The thermal bath is downstairs in the basement. For what's offered, the hotel is almost too inexpensive. I was very satisfied.
