Kurhotel Würdinger Hof

Really great.

The food was a real highlight, especially the superb breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, warm croissants, rolls, bread, muesli, cold cuts, and cheeses. Dinner was excellent too, with two set menus and daily specials available for a small extra charge. The rooms are clean and have a rustic charm, though the furnishings are a little dated. The hotel has a history of more than 200 years. I’d recommend it for the good value, as long as you don’t need an elevator to reach your room.

I had booked five nights from April 30, but left after the first night. The room hadn't been cleaned, the sheets had holes and stains, and it was only 15°C inside. I couldn't sleep because of the cold, and the bathroom was 14°C in the morning after an overnight outdoor temperature of just 2°C. The manager said the heating was switched off and refused to discuss it further. He told me to leave if I didn't like it, so I did. This place should not be called a hotel.

The rooms really need renovation, and reception felt rather cold and impersonal. The food made up for that: our first dinner was very good, and dinner throughout the stay was excellent and tasty. Breakfast was decent, too. New Year's Eve was well organized, with a very good menu. Everything else was good, but the rooms were the letdown.
