We could easily have stayed longer, our week went by so quickly. The Walnut Cabin has everything you need, and Mr. Ruhe took plenty of time to show us around and explain things in detail. For hikers, there is lots of information in the cabin, and Mr. Ruhe is a knowledgeable, helpful contact. It's also a great base for hikes in the Harz Mountains or trips to Goslar, Wernigerode, and Quedlinburg. The cabin sits at the back of a large garden, with lovely Harz Mountains scenery on one side and trees around the garden on the other. We enjoyed the small covered terrace for breakfast and other outdoor activities. Thanks to Mr. Ruhe for his hospitality, and all the best!

Our yearly Harz Mountains hiking trip has become a lovely tradition, and we usually choose the cozy, beautifully furnished Walnut Cabin in Mr. Ruhe's well-kept garden. It's spacious enough for the two of us and has comforts we wouldn't necessarily expect at such a reasonable price. When the cabin wasn't available, we stayed in the Glückauf holiday apartment instead. It was just as comfortable and clean, and I think it may even be cheaper? Either way, it suits us hikers fine since we're out a lot and prefer to take in panoramic views from the mountains.

The Walnut Cabin made a lovely home away from home. It's charmingly furnished, very clean, and has everything needed to prepare our own meals. With Mr. Ruhe's many helpful recommendations, it was easy to set out and explore the beautiful Harz Mountains hikes on our own. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

We had a peaceful, beautiful stay at the Walnut Cabin, a green little retreat with bamboo bushes around it and a great price. The owner was friendly and helpful, and even offers several guided hikes. The wooden house "breathes," and its modern electronics let you adjust the temperature by half a degree. Everything we needed was there, and the shower, toilet, and kitchen were lovely and very clean. We highly recommend it.
