Hotel Zur Rose

Charming and very clean, with attentive, helpful staff. Rooms facing the street were very noisy.

I got in late in the evening, and after I phoned, the manager came to reception quickly. The room was fine, though the furnishings were very old. I paid €45 for one night without breakfast, but because the manager spoke very little German, I paid for two nights upfront and we agreed I would get the bill the next day. The next day at work I tried to call and say when I could come by to settle up. No one answered or called back, despite at least ten attempts. When I went to the hotel, I spoke with the daughter and her friend and explained what had happened. She refunded the second night, and after we exchanged email details, promised to send the bill by email. I've called several times since and each time was told it would arrive that day. It still hasn't. I can't recommend the hotel.

I liked the hotel. It's well located, with friendly staff and cozy rooms. Breakfast is the standard German spread, coffee, rolls, sausage, cheese and yogurt.

For what it costs, this is a really good hotel. The room was fine, the bed comfortable, and breakfast tasty. I'd happily stay again.
