Apartment-Hotel New Angela

The little kitchenette in our spacious, nicely furnished room was a big plus, and everything was very clean. We stayed at this apartment hotel over New Year's Eve and celebrated the start of the new year at the thermal baths. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. The waitress was especially friendly and attentive. We felt at home right away, and would recommend it for a short trip.

Communication was the biggest problem for us. Nobody mentioned that breakfast is at the main hotel, a 15-minute walk away, or told us about the spa card. Room service also seems hard to manage: apparently one cleaner handles breakfast, the welcome call over the intercom at the New Angela, and cleaning the rooms. The room at the New Angela was clean and in good condition. There’s a half-equipped kitchen in a cupboard in the common room for some reason, but that didn’t bother us. We didn’t need Wi-Fi, but anyone who does may struggle to get it in room 7.

We were very happy with our stay, and the room exceeded our expectations. It was clean and well equipped, even with a kitchenette, and had comfortable beds and a balcony, or at least somewhere to sit outside. A lovely staff member served us a generous breakfast. Check-in was a little complicated because someone had to come from the hotel's second location with the key, but it was easy enough to manage.

For €65 a night, I feel ripped off by the attic room. The furnishings were okay, but the bathroom was an absolute disgrace. The ceiling slopes right over the bathtub where you’re meant to shower, making it difficult, and the bathroom was dirty, especially the tiles and sink. The ceilings in both the bedroom and bathroom were so low they’d only suit short people. Never again!
