The best apartment.

We booked an apartment advertised as "feel-good," newly and charmingly furnished. The contact beforehand was friendly and accommodating, and we got a nice little bonus: two days with three hours of free admission to the local thermal baths. On arrival, the apartment seemed pleasant at first. It was roomy enough, and the kitchenette was fairly new and fully equipped. But the rest felt more like a collection of flea-market finds than the advertised modern, charming place. "Sustainable" might have been a better description. Some cups and glasses were promotional items from the region. The cupboards were crammed despite there being just two of us, leaving no room for our things, like spices, which had to go on the already small work surface. The fruit basket was filled with plastic fruit, so we couldn't use it for our fresh fruit. There was even a baking tray too big for the oven, left on the floor. The bedroom was a reasonable size, with an 80s-style bed, a wardrobe, and incredibly hard mattresses. Mold in both corners on the exterior wall meant I slept on the couch. The bathroom had mold too. The shower was covered with it all over the frame, and the tiles and grout were affected. The shower needs replacing, or at least taking apart completely for cleaning. The sink was cracked in several places and needs replacing too. On Monday morning I tried reception, but no one was there, as had been the case all week. I called to ask for a cleaning, but the result was poor. Mold is apparently a known problem, and they had put in dehumidifiers, which we had to empty ourselves. We found the previous tenants' excrement in the toilet bowl, which made us question whether the bathroom had been cleaned at all. There were no cleaning products in the apartment apart from a little glass cleaner. The vacuum was filthy too, with a clogged nozzle, a completely blocked filter, and dirty bristles. So on Saturday evening, right after arriving, we bought cleaning supplies and had to deep-clean before unpacking. That was completely unacceptable to us. Despite the staff being friendly, cleanliness is the most basic thing we expect. We won't return or recommend this place.

The complex is in a quiet location, which is its main advantage. But it's completely unsuitable for people with disabilities: there is no elevator, and neither the shower nor the toilet is accessible. Calling it a "residence" is misleading. Everything is very outdated and leaves a poor impression. It badly needs a complete renovation.

Everything is within walking distance, and the apartment is about the size of a spacious two-room flat, which made it perfect for a few days. Both balconies are small, but they overlook the White Regen river.
