Leonardo Hotel Bad Kreuznach

The location is in an industrial area, but a lovely garden screens the hotel from it, and there was no noise. The hotel is close to the city centre by car or bike. It’s seven years old but still looks like new, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good, with an extra selection of breads and cakes. There’s free coffee in the lobby, and the restaurant is good, though closed on Sundays. Our room was clean.

The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and the hotel had sufficient parking and great facilities. On the way there, we thought we were heading into an industrial area and started to panic, but it turned out to be a lovely hotel. I used the massage machine twice. The 30-minute price was good compared with other machines and even a 15-minute massage from a person. The hot chocolate from the machine was delicious too. There’s a fantastic bakery just 2 minutes from the hotel, with good prices.

I can’t recommend this. As soon as I entered the room, bugs were crawling out of the carpeted floor and the wall beside the entrance. I found four live bugs in total, which makes me think the cleaning standards need serious improvement. And for goodness’ sake, get rid of the unhygienic carpet floor in 2025. One small plus: when we told reception about the bugs, they kindly offered us free breakfast.

After a long day of driving, we wanted to relax with some TV in the room. There were only a few channels, all in German, and the streaming options didn’t work because the TV had no internet connection. It would be great if you could stream your own services, like Netflix or Amazon Prime, in the future. We did manage to get our own Netflix working with a bit of IT know-how. The hotel was clean, the staff were nice and helpful, and the free water and snacks at reception made us feel welcome. We also tried room service for the first time in our lives. The staff were really kind, and the food they brought was great.
