Vital Hotel

The cleaning and maintenance staff were lovely. Every time we passed them, they greeted us and wished us a nice day. All of them! They should have been at the front desk. What an amazing, warm and loving team. The bar was another matter. The bar lady was really stressed and struggled with three or four orders at once. She sometimes snapped at people, and tables were left uncleared. We could see she was trying her absolute best and really needed another pair of hands. Even so, we decided to have drinks in town or in our room instead of going back to the bar. The hotel and rooms felt outdated, though I believe they’re working on that at the moment. We just didn’t see it during our stay. The saunas were nice, but just saunas, with two small baths to cool off. Personally, we’d have preferred a herbal bath, bubble bath, or something between sauna sessions. Our stay got off to a bad start at check-in. The lady seemed uninterested and didn’t give us a warm welcome. For a relaxing, romantic trip together, that’s a pretty lousy start. We discussed it with other staff, who said she was learning, but you can learn payment systems, not personality. If that’s how she greets guests, she simply isn’t suited to the job. This hotel could offer so much more. With some better staff training and the interior fixed up, it could be a gem.

We took the kids swimming, but the pool was dirty, with chunks of hair floating in it. My wife got out after 30 minutes, and we won’t be coming back. The hot tubs seemed OK. The car park was extremely busy too, and we couldn’t find a spot anywhere nearby.

The staff were super friendly and attentive everywhere, from reception and breakfast to the restaurant and spa. The pool and Jacuzzi were really nice. The rooms, though, were old and dated, with stained curtains and mold in the shower. There was no kettle or coffee machine, and no room service, so from 23:00 to 06:30 there was no way to get a hot drink. My mom wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t even get a glass of tea. It doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel.

The only thing that needs attention is the shortage of parking for hotel guests when it’s busy. Apart from that, we’re happy with our amazing two-day stopover at hotel vital and plan to come back. From check-in onward, the staff were very attentive. We also enjoyed the welcome drinks and good service in the restaurant and spa area.
