Hotel & Restaurant Wiggers

The location was convenient, very close to the main train station, and the hotel was clean with a very good breakfast. Still, it didn’t meet my expectations for a business trip. The room was boiling hot, around 34 degrees, with no air conditioning or even a fan. It was also loud at night. There’s no elevator, so I had to carry my luggage upstairs, and the fridge barely worked. A bottle of water from the lobby cost me 6 Euros.

I spent a week here on business. The room was simple and nice, and the bathroom was good. The restaurant serves a good selection of traditional German dishes, which I’d recommend. Breakfast was a pretty basic continental spread. Some staff didn’t speak English, which made things tricky now and then, but I got by with my German.

A scam message came through the hotel’s account on a very well-known site whose name starts with “booking.” The hotel denied sending it, but showed no interest in checking what happened, removing the message, or clarifying things for customers. That was completely unacceptable.

Clean and tidy, though a bit worn and dated. The shower not working was a pain, but the staff were great. I’ll go back, so it can’t have been all that bad.
