We weren't expecting to find such a lovely place. The restaurant made our evening meal memorable, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast didn't offer much variety, but there was plenty for us. We got a warm welcome too, and would definitely return.

We came across this place by chance in 2019 after the restaurant we'd planned to visit for dinner never greeted us or served us. The food here was fantastic, so four years later, now that we live in Germany, we returned and stayed overnight. It's only about 1.5 hours from Stuttgart, GE. The rooms are nice and very clean, the beds are comfortable, and breakfast is well done. There's a stream right beside the hotel, and with the window open you can hear it at night. So peaceful. The area has lots of trails, most of them shaded. The Blue Diamond marked trail starts at the hotel corner. You'll be able to figure out the routes when you arrive, but remember to reserve dinner for when you're done. The food is fantastic. We will be back.

The whole meal was really good, and the prices were fair. I started with mushroom ravioli with truffle, then had roast pork with local mushrooms, asparagus, and potatoes. Dessert was strawberries under a gratinated cream with vanilla ice cream. I can't remember its name, but it tasted as good as it sounds. There's a nice wine selection too. I chose a local red from 2016, and it was a good pick. Definitely recommend the restaurant.

The hotel is in the Schwarzwald mountains, in a small riverside town beside a former monestery. The building and interiors have an old-fashioned look, but our room, bed, and bathroom were clean and nice. We left the window open and could hear the river running all night. The restaurant is excellent, with traditional dishes given a modern touch. We tried Gebratende schweinemedallionen with cherry sauce, which was very good, and Hirschragout, also very good. The wine and dessert were perfect too. It's run by a friendly couple and well worth a visit. We'll return 😊
